Wife who killed preacher husband set free after serving 7 months but overstay your immigration visa and your looking at 10 years to life outside of the US.  Folks… things are more than slightly out of wack.

What’s really bothersome to me is that illegal kids with US citizen siblings would be expected to leave the US for 10 years before being allowed to return.  What’s the point in this?  This is such a no-brainer.  These kids could be the valedictorian of their class and yet there future is so bleak.  If we were truly interested in curbing gang activity then put these kids onto a legalization path.  These kids could go on to college with the hope of obtaining a rewarding career.  Instead of facing the possibility of being sent to a country they might not remember without any family members and not being able to read or write the language.  All of this only to be allowed to return after they serve a decade.  Will the child have had the same educational opportunities there?  Will they have the same earning potential when they are finally allowed to return?  If they are destined to return anyways then waive the 10 years and allow them to start living their lives now
