Caddigan & Covington & Jenkins & Nohe & Principi & Stirrup30 Nov 2007 05:46 pm

It appears that Prince William County Board Members might be asleep during Father’s Sunday sermons?

After some light investigative work, it has been discovered that parishioners at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Woodbridge include:  Corey A. Stewart, Mike May & newly elected Frank Princippi. John Stirrup attends Saint Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church in Haymarket, Marty Nohe worships at Holy Family Catholic Church in Dale City and Maureen Caddigan goes to St. Francis of Assissi Catholic Church in Triangle. So, with the exception of Wally Covington & John Jenkins, the entire Prince William County Board of Supervisors purports to be Catholics.

However, it appears that they are spending more time paying attention to the blogs and bloggers then their own clergy. So, perhaps a quick sermon here in the blogosphere might reach them.

Note: Of course, viewing this video does not negate your Sunday mass obligation.

Today was the first of probably many lawsuits related to the County’s ‘Immigration Resolution’.

The Potomac News had the following to say:

At a brief hearing Friday in U.S. District Court in Alexandria, Judge James Cacheris said the plaintiffs lacked standing to challenge the resolution passed earlier this year by the Prince William County Board of Supervisors.

The sooner the resolution is rescinded the sooner the County will be able to heal from both the human and economic impacts that it is causing.

Federation for American Immigration Reform & Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) & John Tanton & racism29 Nov 2007 11:25 pm

Why the calls of racism & xenophobia in response to the current explosion of interest in the immigration debate? Well, some people would like to dismiss them as baseless but there is a very clear connection.

Help Save Manassas Group worked in conjunction with Immigration Reform Law Institute(IRLI) to form Prince William County’s ‘Immigration Resolution.’  IRLI was created by Federation for American Immigration Reform’s(FAIR’s) Board of Directors as their auxillary organization for litigation and fund-raising purposes.  It is important to understand FAIR’s underlying motivation in the immigration debate.

In order to do so, one need to look no further than FAIR’s founder and current board member John Tanton.  In founding FAIR, John Tanton accepted over $1,000,000 from the Pioneer Fund which was performing research on the ‘genetic superiority of the white race.’  Tanton is editor and publisher of The Social Contract Press which has been designated a ‘hate group’ by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC/http://www.splcenter.org/).  Additionally, board members of FAIR have ties to the Council for Conservative Citizens(http://www.cofcc.org/) which opposes the ‘mixing of the races.’

In order to more fully understand Tanton’s idealogy it is insightful to read some of his early writings.  (Note:  The reference section at the end of this article has links to some of his early memo/writings.)

But, here is an excerpt from Tanton’s Memo to Witan IV attendees -

As Whites see their power and control over their lives declining, will they simply go quietly into the night? Or will there be an explosion?

Are our local officials and the general public aware of the connection between groups like Help Save Virginia, IRLI & FAIR? And do they fully understand FAIR’s ulterior motivation?  Certainly, IRLI has not been forth-coming in their relationship to FAIR. because anyone visiting their website, http://www.irli.org, will not be able to ascertain the organization’s origins.

One needs to consider, that Prince William County, has fallen into the hands of FAIR’s puppeteer John Tanton and has become part of the ’White Explosion’ that he envisions.

You might be a redneck if - you think a ‘culture of inclusiveness’ in special education classes has something to do with multi-cultural inclusiveness.  For more information, read - http://www.bvbl.net/index.php/2007/11/23/more-waste-at-pwc-public-schools/.  In typical fashion, the radical anti-immigration zealots of Prince William have it all wrong.  As soon as they hear the words - ‘culture of inclusiveness’ they lose whatever semblance of a mind that they might have possessed.  What is it, about this term – ‘culture of inclusiveness’ that causes them to react so venomously? Obviously, there are some issues that need addressing.

For their edification, according to the PWC School System’s website:

Inclusion is a culture based on the belief that all students are welcomed members of the school community and have the right to learn in the least restrictive environment.  It is a belief that all faculty and staff must share the commitment and responsibility to meet the needs of all students.  In an inclusive culture, acceptance and understanding of individual differences are developed through professional collaboration, differentiation of instruction and research based, peer-reviewed teaching practices.

crime & police14 Nov 2007 12:53 pm

According to a Washington Post article entitled, “Robbers Stalk Hispanic Immigrants, Seeing Ideal Prey“, Prince William County has created a special task force to deal with the ever increasing number of brutal attacks against Hispanics.  It is suspected that Hispanics are being targeted because of the assumption that they carry large amounts of cash and would have an unwillingness to report the crimes to the police.  This can be directly attributed to the County’s Immigration Resolution without which these predators would not have a prey.

Help Save Loudoun13 Nov 2007 12:38 pm

Good News out of Loudoun is that only 2 out of 5 candidates endorsed by Help Save Loudoun(HSL) will be seated on the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors.  Only two incumbants endorsed by HSL will retain their seats on the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors.  Two Republican incumbants,  Mick Staton of the Sugarland Run Precinct & Jim Clem of the Leesburg Precinct both endorsed by Help Save Loudoun have lost their positions and Catoctin Precinct challenger Geary Higgins lost his bid to unseat Democratic Incumbant Sally R. Kurtz.

county finances & real estate09 Nov 2007 01:29 pm

According to the report by County Executive Craig, $1.2 million could be identified as having been spent on ‘illegals’ in a county budget that exceeds 850 million.  The report itself conceeds that benefits or taxes collected from ‘illegals’ can not be determined.  So, it is conceivable, that ‘illegal’ immigration has been a net gain for Prince William County.  The truth is that we will never know to what extent the County has either benefited or not from the influx of cheap labor.  Personally, it seems logical that this labor force has driven the construction of new homes and contributed to the increase in real estate values.
